Where most of the money goes
The biggest lever is the number of guests: food and drinks are priced per person, and every table adds decorations, stationery and often venue space. Inviting 20 fewer people quickly saves several thousand euros.
Fixed costs such as photography, music, outfits and rings stay almost the same whether you celebrate with 30 or with 120 people. That is why they make up the larger share of small weddings.
Be generous with “Other”: it covers registry office fees, the cake, hair and make-up on the morning, favours, tips and everything nobody thinks of at the start.

How much does a wedding cost in Germany?
Mostly, it depends on the number of guests. For a classic celebration with 60 guests the calculator comes to around €18,650 – about €310 per guest. Small weddings with your closest people cost much less, big celebrations with an upmarket venue and a band much more.
How much does a wedding cost per guest?
Plan about €60 to €150 per person for food and drinks. Together with a share of the venue, photography, music and everything else, a wedding with 60 guests comes to roughly €160 to €610 per guest in the calculator.
What does a wedding with 30 guests cost?
For a classic celebration with 30 guests the calculator comes to about €15,200. At small weddings the fixed costs – photography, outfits, rings – weigh more than the food. By the way: Unser Ja is free for up to 30 people.
Which costs are often forgotten?
Registry office fees and certificates, tips, vendors' travel, favours, the cake, hair and make-up on the morning and a buffer for the unexpected. In the calculator they are part of “Other”.
Are our entries saved?
No, the calculator runs entirely in your browser. Only when you click “Use in Unser Ja” does your browser keep the amounts until you have created your account. There you take them over as budget targets with one click – or discard them.
